Classroom Jobs
Help Wanted- I found this idea in a Mailbox magazine and modified it a bit. Instead of a newspaper wanted theme, I do a Western Help Wanted board, in the style of the old wanted signs. I type up my job descriptions, tape them to the sign template and then photocopy them so it's nice and clean (use white-out to get rid of the 'name' line on the template). After hours of coloring, they look pretty good (use crayon and the laminator will melt it, turning the colors really bright). The picture below has a bee border, because after the jobs were assigned, I put up a giant hive with the jobs written on each layer, and the students' names on bees next to the jobs they were given. This year, I'm going to stick with the western theme the entire year, using fake barbed wire as a border, wood paper as a background (so it looks like they are tacked up on a fence) and sheriff stars to write the students' names on. I will then place the star next to the poster with the job they are assigned. (Scroll down the 'Help Wanted' link for the wanted poster template)

Job Application- I keep plenty of these copied so I can just grab them and pass them out when I feel it's time to change jobs. I'm not very good with schedules, so we don't have a set amount of time after which we trade.
