Energizers are fun activities that get students up, out of their desks and moving around for 1-2 minutes before getting back to work.  You can use them in transition times, to break up a long lesson or after a test.  Make sure to ask students to reflect on how the energizer went afterwards-how did they work as a team?  What could they have done better?  What could they take away from the activity, besides just having fun?  How could they modify it for content?

Once students have plaid the energizer games for fun, start to bring them into your content lessons, adding academic challenges with them.  Get creative, and remember to ask students to reflect after each energizer.

Let me know if you have your own energizer to add!
