Writing Centers/Folder Activities

Use the following ideas to create file folder activities for centers or stations.

The Writing Tree- Take a small, fake evergreen tree (or put a cool branch in a bucket of sand for a deciduous tree) and hang these writing prompts from it. Place it at your writing center and turn it into a literacy station.

Magic Mirror- Great idea from The Teacher's Desk.  Glue the directions onto one side of the folder and a simple plastic mirror from the Dollar Tree onto the other side.

The Peanut Jar- Another great idea from The Teacher's Desk.  Cut out the peanut jar, glue edges to the inside of a file folder, stick peanuts behind it and put the directions on the other side of the folder.  Done! (Sorry the peanut jar is blurry-I could NOT find a better picture.  Let me know if you have one.)
