Activities
Look What I Did With A Leaf- This is a great activity for your fall/Halloween party.  My husband I will collect bags and bags of colorful fall leaves and then I lay them down on a tarp in the front of the room.  The students can collect any leaves they want  from the pile to use to create animals such as the ones in this powerpoint.  Project this powerpoint up to a TV or screen to show students examples and to get the imagination rolling.  Wet glue works best with the leaves.
Halloween Party Donation Parent Letter- This is the initial Halloween Party letter I send home to parents a week or so into October.  I ask them to send it back to me so I can get an idea of what will still need to be bought.  My party always includes a carmel apple bar (the carmel squares take FOREVER to unwrap and melt, so make sure you do that ahead of time) and a cookie decorating table.  These are both volunteer-heavy stations, but parents love to help with them.
Halloween Party Donation Confirmation Parent Letter- This is the confirmation letter reminding parents to send in their donations and giving the times to come in if they are volunteering.
Pumpkin Station Booklet- This is a booklet that I made up using pumpkins for a Halloween activity.  Ask parents to send in a pumpkin for each student and then set up stations for each activity.  Students can move around, filling in the pages while using math and language arts with their pumpkins.  This is a blast for all involved, and the booklets are super easy to make!
Analyzing Halloween Costumes- Are your choices gender-bias or promoting stereotypes?
Spider Wall Hanging- Art project
Class Halloween Book- Memory project
Five Little Pumpkins Chant- One of my favorites
Monsters Around the World- Global look at the holiday
Columbus: Hero or Villian Lesson- From SCOPE
Dead Words Mini Lesson- Also see bulletin board idea
Day of the Dead Fact Cards- Cut these out and put them on a book ring for students to keep.
Day of the Dead Wall Hangings- Cut these out, attach with book rings so they lay 2 across and three down, and hang them on the wall like a 'quilt'.
Haunted House Clip Art- A bit blurry, but can be copied onto a transparency and traced onto poster board for a really cool bulletin board.     HH Clip Art II
Pringles Can Characters- Use this as inspiration for Halloween art!
