Teaching Spelling- Helpful tips for a general program set-up.

Spellingtime.com- A great interactive website that allows teachers to enter their weekly spelling list for students to practice.  You can keep track of which students are logging on, what their game scores are, etc.  This is the slip that I stapled to assignment books so students wouldn't forget their user name and password.

Spell Well Cards- Ms. Jensen's spelling activity cards.

Sticky Spelling Activities- Excellent movement activities for students that involve spelling.

Spelling Cards- Activities on cards that you can print, cut out and laminate for students to choose from.

Mrs. Fuller's 3rd Grade Activities- A huge list

Spelling Activities Templates- Have students do these activity sheets with their new list each week.

Sparkle- Directions to a popular spelling game

Spelling Go Fish- Another fun spelling game

Spell Well Task Cards- Fantastic spelling center activities

Spelling Task Cards- More beautiful spelling center activity cards

Spelling Contracts- The idea behind spelling contracts is that each student needs to earn a certain number of points for their weekly spelling, but they can choose the activities (each assigned a different point value) based on interest.  Here are a couple of examples that you can pick and choose from:
Ms. Jensen's Spelling Contract
Spelling Activities- Activities you can use on your own personal spelling contract.
Tic Tac Toe Spelling Contract
Spelling Contract- I can't remember this source-sorry!
ABC- Point based contract
Money Contract- Each activity is worth a monetary value
Ways to Practice

Spelling Bingo- Activities from a contract on a bingo card.  Students have to do three activities in a row: up/down, across or diagonal.

Keyboard- Have students 'type' their spelling words

Rosemary Bissell, a fantastic teacher at Challenger Elementary, gave me the following documents for spelling that works with the Sitton Spelling program.  You could use this for any spelling program, though.
